Chapel Rock
Hidden in the Axmouth and Lyme Regis Undercliff, Chapel Rock is a pillar of white limestone flecked with flint. There are stories of religious dissenters meeting there in secret during the Tudor period, in a clearing beside the rock. The sea can be glimpsed through the ash branches and, in summer, the clearing is shaded by white guelder rose.
